VOLUNTEER CENTRE MAKING ITS MARK

The Volunteer Centre of Toronto has undergone a makeover and is introducing its new look with a series of four different posters. According to the centre, the new image is designed to brand the non-profit Centre, a technique that is usually adapted by "for-profit" companies. "People don't really know us," said Joanne Cooper, executive director. The goal of the campaign, she explained, is that when people see the posters they'll walk away with the name stuck in their minds. The corporate makeover, by Toronto-based Cohn & Wells Partners on a pro-bono basis, includes the new tagline "Anyone, Anything, Anytime", redesigned informational materials, a new logo, and an updated Web site. Cooper said the posters began rolling out to community centres, agencies and libraries throughout the city last week. The branding exercise is targeting people of all ages.
