3WEB AND PETRO CANADA TEAM UP TO OFFER FREE INTERNET ACCESS

A new promotion between Cybersurf Interactive Media and Petro-Canada will find Canadians stopping for gas and getting free Internet access for life. Calgary-based Cybersurf has entered into an agreement with Petro-Canada to sell 100,000 3web installation CDs throughout the Greater Toronto Area. The CDs, available for $9.95, allow consumers to access free Internet service. The six-week distribution agreement launches February 21 and marks the beginning of an awareness campaign for 3web in Calgary, Edmonton, Toronto and Vancouver. Currently the 3web Network is available in the Calgary, Edmonton and Toronto markets with expansion into the Vancouver market scheduled for Spring 2000. In the Toronto market, radio advertising promoting 3web and driving traffic to Petro-Canada stations will be supported with a national public relations campaign. Advertising for Cybersurf's 3web is done by Yield Integrated Communications & Advertising. PR is handled by Apex Public Relations. Both agencies are based in Toronto. 3web is a software application developed by Cybersurf that offers users a secure portal to anywhere on the world wide Web. The 3web Network is supported by commercial advertising. Approximately 200 Petro-Canada retailers will be participating in the 3web distribution. Awareness campaign plans for the Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver markets have not been confirmed.
