HILL AND KNOWLTON CREATES PUBLIC AFFAIRS PRACTICE

Toronto-based Hill and Knowlton has reorganized its corporate communications group and created a separate public affairs government relations practice. Headed by senior vice president Bill King, former executive assistant to Ontario Premier Mike Harris, the public affairs practice has added five new government relations staff including: Tonie Chaltas as vice president, Kathryn Hunt and Michael Ras as senior consultants, Wallace Pidgeon as consultant and Angela Bartolucci as assistant consultant. Between Chaltas, Hunt, Ras and Pidgeon, the new practice has direct experience working in seven different government ministries at Queen's Park, including the Premier's office. The public affairs practice has also seen its client roster grow with recent account wins including the Ontario Realty Corporation, Smallworld Systems, BCE Emergis, Dairy Farmers of Ontario and Tourism Toronto
