PATTISON OUTDOOR GOES BIG WITH NEW VIDEO BOARD

Toronto-based outdoor advertising company Pattison Outdoor has introduced what it calls the largest full-color LED video display board in Canada. The company revealed the 16 ft. 7 inch by 21 ft. 5 inch video display board Friday at the corner of Yonge Street and Bloor Street in Toronto. In partnership with DaimlerChrysler Canada of Windsor, Ontario and CTV Television of Toronto, the new video board is "essentially a giant outdoor TV with no sound". DaimlerChrysler and CTV will be broadcasting highlights of sporting events, commercials messages and special event programming through CTV's advertising department and DaimlerChrysler's ad agency, Pentacom-OMD of Toronto, for the next five years. Gerry Jenkins, marketing manager for DaimlerChrysler Canada said the company is excited about the potential for the board. "With the number of special events with which we are involved as sponsor...the Toronto and Vancouver Molson July events, the Olympics and various golf tournaments, the prospect of broadcasting timely news updates has particular appeal," he said. The board was manufactured by Daktronics Inc. of Brookings, SD, with technical consultation provided by Pattison's sister company Kimberlite Media International based in Toronto.
