GOTHRUUS.COM PAYS VIEWERS TO WATCH ADS

A recently launched Web site is claming to be the first site that actually pays its users to view full-screen targeted ads while they are surfing the Internet. GoThruUs.com of Montreal is using FAST (Full-screen ad strategic targeting) technology to offer advertisers interaction with targeted users. FAST technology offers advertisers 10 times the size of a banner ad and 4 times the bytes size, as well as permits the usage of HTML, images, JavaScript and audio tools. The company will pay users U.S. $0.01 for every ad they watch while searching, shopping, reading news or emails or while chatting online. A full-screen ad will appear briefly before users are redirected to their intended sites. A referral system is also in place for users to be compensated when they sign up their friends and family. The company is currently in negotiations with several Canadian companies to advertise on the site which launched December 5, 1999. Promotion of the new site is planned for the long-term using off line advertising mediums. Advertising is handled in-house.
