CUPE LAUNCHES H20 CAMPAIGN

The Canadian Union of Public Employees is urging the federal government to upgrade water systems across the country through a new advertising campaign. The campaign is for the creation of a National Water Infrastructure Program and will include billboard advertising and a direct mail campaign from Toronto-based Joss MacLellan Design. Billboards will be seen in 14 cities across the country supported with an information booklet that will be sent to one million Canadian households. Additional print advertising will be running in alternative magazines with plans for newspaper ads in the new year. The first phase of a multi-year campaign, the advertising will run until February 2000. The Canadian Union of Public Employees represents 475,000 Canadians.
