SAATCHI & SAATCHI TAKES A SHOT FOR CANADIAN CLASSIC

Saatchi & Saatchi of Toronto is racking them up for the Rothmans Benson & Hedges' Canadian Classics 8-Ball Open pool competition. The agency recently completed a print and poster campaign in support of the event. The campaign follows a pool table on a cross-Canada tour. The ads show a pool table in different Canadian landscapes with the headline "Now playing across Canada." The advertising is designed to position the 8-Ball Open as a Canada-wide event open to anyone from pool sharks to rookie players. The Canadian Classics 8-Ball Open offers Canadian pool players a chance to win cash, prizes and a national title. The competition is running at 4,000 bars across Canada with the national championships scheduled for June 2000. The print and poster campaign is expected to run throughout the competition.
