Molson Inc. has appointed Michael Downey senior vice president of marketing at Molson Canada, effective January 4, 2000. In the newly-created position, Downey will be responsible for leading Molson Canada's national marketing and sales strategy as well as implementing campaigns for all of Molson's brands nationwide. Downey joins Molson from Sportsco International, owners and operators of SkyDome, where he was president and chief operating officer. In related news, Sportsco has announced Jake Geleerd, president of Sportsco International will succeed Downey as president of SkyDome, effective January 1, 2000.
OMNI Outdoor in Toronto has installed Peter Batrem as vice president and general manager. Batrem joins OMNI from Integrated Media Sales, where he was Quebec regional manager. Jack Wojcicki has been promoted to the position of manager of corporate accounts for BenchMark Communications. In this role Wojcicki will be responsible for team strategy, management and development. He will also remain involved in media relations programs. His clients include Hewlett-Packard (Canada) Ltd. and GE Capital IT Solutions. Wojcicki has worked as a consultant and senior consultant during his three years at the company.
