YOUNG AND RUBICAM ENTERS INTERACTIVE RESEARCH MARKET

Young & Rubicam of New York has entered a new market. The communications network has announced a strategic alliance with Harris Interactive, a market research and polling firm based in New York. Under the terms of the agreement, all the Young & Rubicam companies as well as their clients will now have access to Harris Interactive's services. This includes Harris Interactive's Internet panel of 4.2 million individuals and its technology and data analysis tools. "One of the really dramatic changes we will see in the marketing services industry is the ability to conduct real-time measurement of consumer attitudes and the effectiveness of our communication programs," Thomas Bell Jr., president and COO of Young & Rubicam Inc. said. "Young & Rubicam wants to be in a position to lead and benefit from this emerging trend." Y&R also announced it has made an investment in Harris Interactive. Y&R operates a network of companies in advertising, perception management, public relations, identity and design, sales promotion, database marketing, customer relationship management and healthcare communications in 73 countries.
