HOME DEPOT REACHING OUT TO COMMERCIAL CUSTOMERS THROUGH SNAIL MAIL

Home Depot Canada of Toronto is launching a direct-mail marketing company that will specialize in maintenance, repair and operations products. Maintenance Warehouse, which will be an extension of Home Depot's operation in the United States, is scheduled to open its doors for business in Spring 2000. The new direct-mail marketing company will offer commercial customers of Home Depot Canada, the ability to select products from a catalogue, place orders through a toll free line and have orders delivered the next day. Maintenance Warehouse in the U.S. serves owners and managers of multi-housing, lodging and commercial properties. According to Larry Marmon, president of Maintenance Warehouse in the U.S., the new Canadian company is expected to enjoy the same level of success in Canada as it does in the U.S. Home Depot Canada is currently working with its vendor partners on the development of the new company. PR for Home Depot Canada is handled by Edelman Public Relations of Toronto.
