KELLOGG CANADA LAUNCHES POKEMON PROMOTION

Kellogg Canada of Toronto has launched a new Pokemon on-pack promotion. The promotion includes limited edition Kellogg's Pokemon game tip cards and the chance to win $1,000 worth of merchandise on over 12 million boxes of Kellogg's cereals. The cards, in both French and English, were created especially for Kellogg's. Three limited edition cards will be available in boxes of Kellogg's Froot Loops, Rice Krispies and Corn Pops cereals. In addition to the cards, Kellogg's is running a Ultimate Pokemon Dream contest with a chance to win $1,000 worth of licensed Pokemon products, a subscription to Nintendo Power Magazine, Pokemon Hasbro toys and Pokemon Golden books. The contest is running on both kids'-branded and adult-branded cereals including Corn Flakes, Two Scoops Raisin Brand, Mini-Wheats and Muslix. The special pack cereals will be available across Canada until the end of the year. A television commercial featuring the on-pack promotion and Ultimate Pokemon Dream contest will be running over the next few weeks in major English markets. The television spot will be supported by in-store displays. The Pokemon Red and Blue video game was first introduced last September in Canada by Nintendo of Canada based in Vancouver. Advertising for Kellogg Canada is done by Leo Burnett of Toronto.
