WARNER LAMBERT CONSUMER HEALTHCARE LAUNCHES FIRST DEFENSE

Warner Lambert Consumer Healthcare, a division of Warner Canada Inc. of Toronto, has introduced consumers first defense for the upcoming cough and cold season. Benylin First Defense is a new echinacea and menthol cough and cold syrup and lozenge that is designed to be taken for the first two days of a cold, when symptoms such as a scratchy throat, slight cough and sniffles become noticeable. Benylin First Defense, available in pharmacies, grocery, convenience and natural health stores across Canada, comes in three varieties: Menthol Honey syrup and Autumn Berry and Herbal Mints lozenges. To support the launch a television advertising campaign, from Bates Canada, breaks October 11. In-store promotion and displays, a sampling program and a brand related Web site at <http://www.first-defense.com> from Accumark Promotions Group of Toronto is also being used to promote First Defense. Benylin First Defense was promoted to physicians across Canada through a direct mail campaign by Healthwise of Toronto.
