NCC LAUNCHING RADIO CAMPAIGN

The National Citizen's Coalition of Calgary has announced its plans to "blitz" the Prairie provinces with a radio campaign condemning the Canadian Wheat Board's monopoly. The radio spots will begin airing in the next two or three weeks with the tag line is "Selling wheat shouldn't be a crime". The NCC radio blitz is part of an ongoing campaign for the last three years opposing the monopoly. According to NCC president Stephen Harper, farmers are facing a crisis because of low grain prices and because farmers are not allowed to set up food processing plants. The radio campaign, which is designed to draw people's attention to grain prices and the wheat board, was created in-house by the NCC.
