BELL CANADA GETS FILM FANS INSIDE THE FESTIVAL

Toronto-based Bell Canada is giving film fans the ultimate insider look at the behind-the-scenes happenings of the 1999 TIFF Toronto International Film Festival. Bell Canada, major sponsor of the festival since 1995, has teamed up with TIFF for a new online trivia contest called the "Bell Ultimate Insider" on the festival's official Web site at <http://www.bell.ca/filmfest>. The contest is being supported with Web advertising, print ads on popcorn bags distributed in independent movie theatres across Toronto, through posters in the Bloor Yorkville area of Toronto and on "post its" attached to both The Globe and Mail and Toronto Star newspapers. Once a week beginning August 6, film-related trivia questions will be posted on the Web site. For each correct answer, contestants will receive one ballot for the grand prize draw, which includes dinner with the TIFF director and managing director, passes to opening and closing night films and parties as well as reserved seating at galas. A draw for the grand prize will be held on August 27 from all the ballots received. Advertising for Bell is done by Cossette Communications-Marketing of Toronto. PR for Bell Canada is being handled by Shandwick Canada Inc. of Toronto. The 1999 Toronto International Film Festival runs September 9 through to September 18.
