KELLOGG LAUNCHES POP-TARTS SNAK-STIX

Kellogg Company of Battle Creek, Michigan has introduced a new breakfast item timed to coincide with students heading back to school. Pop-Tarts Snak-Stix is a toaster pastry that breaks into three individual pieces. Made with graham crust and fruit filling, Snak-Stix are available in two flavors, Frosted Strawberry and Frosted Berry. To promote the launch of the Pop-Tarts Snak-Stix, print ads are running in magazines and a children-focused television spot will air shortly. In addition, in-store promotional activities including sampling, information inserts and coupons are being used. "We're excited to provide an innovative, convenient and wholesome product that meets both parents' and kids' needs for on-the-go snacking," Kenna Bridges, senior manager of communications at Kellogg USA said. Jacki Nelson, spokesperson for Kellogg Canada Inc., told Adnews that Snak-Stix are available in Canada at major grocery and mass merchant stores across the country. Kellogg Company is a producer of toaster pastries, frozen waffles, bagels, cereal bars and ready-to-eat cereals. Advertising for Kellogg Canada Inc. is done by Leo Burnett of Toronto.
