PNMD Communications has announced the appointment of Gregor Angus to the position of partner and vice-president, managing director. In his new role, Angus will be responsible for the group's advertising activities overseeing the agency's client services, strategic planning, media, creative and production departments. Angus joins PNMD from TAM-TAM/TBWA, where he was group account director.
CTV Inc. has announced the appointment of Trina McQueen as executive vice-president, effective August 16. McQueen will be responsible for the programming, sales and administration of CTV's network, stations and specialty channels. Previously she was president of Discovery Channel.
Call-Net Enterprises has announced that Phil Bates, president of Call-Net Technology Services, has decided to leave the company effective August 20, 1999. Bates first joined Call-Net in 1990 as vice-president, network services. He became president and CEO of Call-Net Local Services in 1996 and president of Sprint Canada in 1997. In 1999, he became president of Call-Net Technology Services. Bates states he rejoined Call-Net to direct the company's entry into the competitive local service market. With Call-Net's launches in Calgary and Vancouver and its national roll-out underway, Bates says he has completed what he set out to do. He plans to spend some time with his family and take some time to consider his opportunities.
