PEPSI-COLA USES MONSTEROUS ADVERTISING FORMAT

Pepsi-Cola Canada Beverages of Mississauga, Ontario is using a different form of outdoor advertising for a multimedia campaign promoting its Mountain Dew brand. In addition to a campaign of television commercials and sampling programs, the beverage company is using a new "monster" format for outdoor advertising. The format spans a 6' x 10' area using ten posters to make one image. Pepsi first used a smaller version of the same concept last year. The oversized ads are on display at downtown locations in Toronto and Vancouver. The campaign, created by BBDO of Toronto, is running until September. Grassroots Advertising of Toronto worked with Pepsi-Cola in creating the new format.
