ALIANT MAKES ITS DEBUT IN TELECOMMUNICATIONS FIELD

When four Atlantic Canada telecommunications and IT companies decided to merge together into what would be the third largest telecommunications company in the country, they felt that they needed some help to decide on a new brand identity. SGCI Communications of Sackville, New Brunswick got the call after winning the account in a competition with two other unnamed agencies. On Tuesday the four companies - Bruncor Inc., Island Telecom Inc., Maritime Telegraph and Telephone Company Ltd., and New Tel Enterprises Ltd. - unveiled their new company identity and name: Aliant. SGCI's assignment included name development, brand identity, multimedia presentations, employee communication packages, Internet and intranet design, national business advertising and regional advertising. SGCI Communications is a mid-sized marketing and communications company with a client list including: Star Choice, TD Evergreen, TD Bank, Maritime Life, BPI Mutual Funds, SABIAN and the University of New Brunswick.
