BENCHMARK WINS ELECTRONICS ACCOUNT

BenchMark Communications of Toronto has announced it has been selected as the public relations agency for Thomson Consumer Electronics Canada. Benchmark will be responsible for increasing the Mississauga, Ontario based consumer electronic company's brand recognition for its RCA, General Electric and PROSCAN product lines which includes televisions' VCR's camcorder's audio and communications products. Initially, Benchmark will introduce Thomson's Guide Plus Gold Electronic Program Guide which is a built-in feature in RCA and PROSCAN televisions. The feature provides a summary of television shows for seven days at the touch of a button, as well as one-touch recording. Benchmark won the Thomson business after a competition with three other unnamed public relations agencies. Benchmark has already begun work on the assignment and is expected to launch in early Summer.
