DIRECTER GIVING AD AGENCIES NEW DIRECTION FOR MARKETING

A new database marketing agency called directer has emerged. Based in Toronto, directer plans to work with ad agencies, providing integrated direct marketing services into their clients' promotional plans without the ad agencies having to set up their own direct marketing divisions. Target clients of directer include small advertising, promotion and public relations agencies without current direct marketing affiliations. The agency was opened in early March by Michael Shaw. Shaw has previous experience in creating direct marketing programs at Ogilvy & Mather, Biltz Direct, Paulo Direct and Cohn & Wells working on accounts such as Bell Canada, Pepsi, Kodak, Saturn, Ontario Hydro, BELAIRdirect and UPS.
