HILL & KNOWLTON SELLS DECIMA RESEARCH

Hill & Knowlton Canada has sold Decima Research, the agency's own research unit, to a research consortium based in Ottawa and Toronto. Decima had been a part of Hill & Knowlton Canada since 1989 when it was acquired as part of the purchase of Public Affairs Resource Group. "The sale of Decima is the logical conclusion of our attempts to focus on our core communications business," H&K president and CEO, Michael Coates said in a release. "It allows us to reinvest proceeds from the sale into new business opportunities in public affairs and public relations." Decima will now operate as an independent marketing and social research firm.
