TOP 40 STATION GOES ALL TALK
By Adnews Staff
Toronto radio station AM 640 is all talk. As of Oct. today, that is. The Top 40 station is letting the music die because the quarter-hour audience numbers have been shrinking as listeners move to FM where the sound quality is better. AM 640, also known as CHOG, has featured talk radio in the morning and early afternoon for the past two years. The station will position itself as Toronto's youngest talk station in an attempt to reach people aged 25 to 49. AM 640 is owned by Westcom Radio Group of Vancouver.
