FEATURE MAGAZINE GETS A MAKE-OVER

Montreal-based Feature Magazine is getting a make-over beginning with its May issue. The subscription-only television and movie magazine is increasing its editorial content and adding new stations to its roster of specialty channels for which its provides listings. The magazine has a circulation of 620,000 in Eastern Canada Marvin Boisvert, president and publisher of Feature Publishing Ltd., told Adnews yesterday. Also being added to the pages of Feature will be a monthly column by David Novek, well-known in Canadian film public relations circles, looking at the movie industry. Coming in May, Pat Hickey, Montreal Gazette sports columnist, will start a regular preview of upcoming sports events on specialty television. A column on film celebrities will be done by Alastair Sutherland, editor of The Mirror, a Montreal alternative weekly newspaper. Feature will also be adding a monthly column on family viewing. The May edition is expected in homes on April 20. The magazine's sister publication Primeurs, which serves Quebec's French-language Premium TV subscribers, is also undergoing similar design and content changes. Promotion of the new magazine is planned for the fall. Advertising for Feature Magazine is done by Optimum Media Inc. of Montreal.
