WASHROOM ADVERTISING COMES TO TORONTO

Torontonians will be getting some new reading material in public washrooms. ZOOM Réseau d'affichage intérieur has joined forces with Telemedia to expand its business into the Toronto market. Telemedia has made a deal to buy a 24% interest in Montreal-based ZOOM which sells advertising space in public washrooms of bars, sports complexes and college and university campuses. It has been operating since 1991 in Quebec where it has almost 10,000 panels. In Toronto it will start with about 300 panels. Telemedia publishes 19 consumer magazines and operates 26 radio stations, in Quebec and Ontario.
