BUYER CONNECTION BRINGS CAR SHOPPING HOME

Oakville, Ont.-based Ford of Canada is making it easier to purchase a vehicle with the announcement of its new online shopping feature called the Buyer Connection. Unveiled at the 1999 Canadian International Auto Show in Toronto this week and available this April, Ford will expand its Web site to offer dealer quotations, on-line credit applications and monthly payment calculations as part of the conveniences found in Buyer Connection. The online shopping gives customers the ability to build and price a new Ford, Mercury or Lincoln vehicle. In addition to the vehicle information, specifications and equipment choices found in the virtual showroom page, the Web site features include: "Buying your Ford," "Ford in Canada," "Quality Care," "Quality Certified Pre-Owned Vehicles" and "Fleet Vehicles," as well as current information and events online. Promotion of Buyer Connection will be done on Ford's Web site. Advertising for Ford is done by Young & Rubicam of Toronto.
