PANCAKE COMPANY MOVING INTO U.S.
By Adnews Staff
Prairie Comfort Foods of Calgary will begin selling its Coyote pancake mixes in the U.S. next year. In addition, the company is launching its first boxed product next month called Prairie Comfort Bread Mix. One of the main obstacles for the company in entering the U.S., is that its products are sold in bags. Bags are tougher to stack and display than boxes. Prairie Comfort will begin selling in the Seattle-Portland area. It also wants to enter the California market, and plans to go east across the United States to Minneapolis. The company uses mainly point-of-sale advertising created in-house. The Coyote pancake mixes come in four different flavors: original, buttermilk, blueberry and apple cinnamon. The bread mixes also has four different types: white, whole wheat, Italian and rye and caraway.
