IBM TARGETS INSURANCE INDUSTRY WITH NEW PROGRAM

U.S.-based International Business Machines launched a new marketing program for the insurance industry last week. Called DecisionEdge for Relationship Marketing, Insurance, the program is available worldwide. The program will allow companies to gain more information on their customers, as well as help them maintain and enhance customer relationships. DecisionEdge will categorize customers by level of risk, which will help insurance companies identify candidates for marketing campaigns. The software will also develop, manage and evaluate marketing campaigns. Other features include databases such as IBM's DB2 and DB2 Universal Database, online analytical process tools for reporting ad-hoc analysis and software for data access, management and warehouse implementation. In Canada, IBM will promote the program using PR. DecisionEdge will also be promoted at insurance industry conferences. PR for IBM is handled by Goodman Communications of Toronto.
