CRTC APPROVES RADIO DEAL

The Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission says Westcom Radio Group of Vancouver can buy Calgary radio station CKIK-FM from CHEZ Broadcasting. Westcom already owns an AM station in the city, CHQR, which has a news, talk and information format. The company is a unit of WIC Western International Communications. Westcom operates 12 radio stations and three radio networks: Western Information Network, Rock Radio Network and Alberta TalkNet. It also owns 50% of Canadian Broadcast Sales.
