LEVI GOES AFTER STRONGER ASIAN PRESENCE

Levi Strauss & Co. of San Francisco has opened an Asian headquarters in Singapore. Demand for casual clothing in Asia is increasing and Levi hopes to pump up its revenue there to over $1 billion(US) from the current $700 million. In the past the company oversaw its Asian business from San Francisco. Levi operates affiliates in nine Asian countries with distributors and/or licensees in Singapore, Guam, Indonesia and Thailand.
