HOCKEY TEAMS SCORE WITH AT&T PROMOTION
By Adnews Staff
Toronto-based AT&T Canada is trying to raise money for minor hockey teams across Canada and gain additional long distance calling customers at the same time. The company has launched its Youth Hockey Program, which invites players, families and friends to sign up 15 people to its long distance services. Once 15 people are signed up, AT&T will send a $250 cheque to the team's representative. If all participants are still AT&T Canada customers after three months, the team will receive another $250. In addition, local minor hockey associations will receive a small annual commission based on the long distance calls of the 15 customers signed up. The program is being supported with posters and kits sent to coaches and parents of minor hockey teams. In addition, it will be promoted on Don Cherry's Grapeline radio show, which is heard on 83 radio stations.
