MDC FORMS SOCIAL MARKETING ARM
By Adnews Staff
MDC Communications and Marketing Services of Toronto has formed a unit that will focus on social marketing. Called the Wellness and Social Marketing Group, the division will consist of LBJ*FRB of Toronto, which specializes in wellness and social marketing, Veritas Communications of Toronto, which conducts public and government relations and Integrated Healthcare Communications of Toronto, which designs and organizes education programs. The three agencies are owned by Toronto-based MDC Communications Corp. "Our close relationship with each other, as independent sister companies, and now as members of the same corporate group, allows us to consistently offer a higher level of expertise, while providing the flexibility and leadership each business requires," LBJ president and CEO Terry Johnson says in a release. LBJ*FRB was formed in 1997 through a merger between LBJ Advertising and Freeman Rodgers Battaglia, both of Toronto. IHC joined the MDC group last February.
