UNITED PROPERTIES CONTEST GETS OVERWHELMING RESPONSE
By Adnews Staff
Vancouver-based home builder United Properties says its latest campaign for its newest development scored on several marketing fronts. The company launched a contest in August inviting the local community to come up with a name for the company's latest project, a waterfront community built adjacent to a golf course in B.C. The contest was promoted using newspaper ads, flyers, posters and PR handled by Outline Graphics of Vancouver. PR was handled by The Barkley Gazeley Group of Vancouver. The winner received a $5,000 shopping spree this week. United Properties received 1,200 entrants into the contest, and over one-third of them wanted more information on the project. The new development has been named Oliver's Landing, a reference to a mid-nineteenth century prospector after whom the nearby golf course is already named. Oliver's Landing is geared to empty nesters aged 45 and over. The community will be comprised of about 250 townhomes, a community recreation centre, 15,000 square feet of retail commercial shops and offices, a pier and a public sea walk. United Properties has developed more than 5,000 residential units in Canada and the U.S. since 1975.
