TEXAS ENCOURAGES CANADIANS TO FLY SOUTH FOR THE WINTER

The tourism division of the Texas Department of Economic Development wants more Canadians to travel to the state this winter. The organization launched a program for Canadians called Buckaroo Bucks, which is a coupon booklet offering savings on more than 100 of the state's accommodations, attractions, restaurants and shops. The coupons offer various discounts such as accepting Canadian money at par, percentage discounts and added-value packages. Buckaroo Bucks will be valid from Oct. 1 to March 31. Consumers can receive a free copy of the book, along with a state travel guide, by calling a 1-800 number. Buckaroo Bucks will be promoted using newspaper, magazine and radio ads created by McCann Erickson's Texas' office. The TravMark Group of Toronto is handling Canadian PR.
