NEC OFFERS NEW LINE OF PRINTERS

NEC Corp. of Itasca, Illinois will introduce a new line of color laser printers to the North American market in the fall that the company says offers up to a 50% faster output than other machines on the market. Called the SuperScript 4400 series, the line features two printers: the 4400 and 4400N and are targeted to corporate users and graphic designers in medium to large workgroups. The printers can print four-pages-per-minute at a resolution of either 600 X 600 dots-per-inch or 1,200 X 1,200 dpi resolution, and offers photographic quality output. The 4400N lets users print to remote printers via the Web. In Canada, NEC plans to promote the new line using advertising, but hasn't confirmed its plans yet. North American advertising for NEC is handled by Hill Holiday of Boston. Canadian PR is done by High Road Communications of Toronto.
