MARKETSOURCE TARGETS STUDENT MARKET

Toronto-based MarketSource Corp. launched its eighth annual festival at Canadian universities this week. Called Campus Fest '98, the event will travel to 20 universities featuring music, live entertainment, contest, games, food and prizes. In addition, sponsors will be able to promote their products and services, as well as give out samples of their products. Over 1,000,000 samples will be given away. In addition, on-campus student groups will be given free exhibit space and customized displays to explain who they are and what they represent. Over 300,000 students are expected to attend the event. Students comprise 50% of the 17 to 25-year-old market and have over $5 billion in discretionary income, according to MarketSource. Campus Fest is designed to reach these consumers. The title sponsor of the event is Calvin Klein. Other sponsors include Hershey Canada, Air Canada, Bank of Montreal, Reddenbutters, IBM Canada, the NBA, Rogers Cantel, S. C. Johnson and Nabisco Ltd.
