SHERATON HOTEL LAUNCHES NEW CLEANING PROGRAM

The Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel has developed a plan where guests won't be pestered by maids who want to clean their room while they're still in bed or in the shower. The program is called Clean at YOUR Convenience, and it lets guests choose when they want to have their room cleaned. A door knob card allows guests to check off their desired cleaning time, giving them the choice of four different time slots from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Guests are asked to place the door knob card outside their door before 2 a.m. The program will be promoted using PR handled in-house and the hotel's Web site. The Sheraton chain of hotels launched a program two years ago called 9 to 5, which allows guests to check-in as early as 9 a.m. on the day of arrival and to check-out as late as 5 p.m. on departure day.
