T. EATON CO. FOCUSES ON YOUNG CONSUMERS
By Adnews Staff
Toronto-based T. Eaton Co. Ltd. is trying to get more young people into its stores. The retailer has opened a new department geared to 14 to 22 year olds. Called Diversity, the department will sell trendy clothes and accessories. It will play loud music and some will feature a candy counter, a cafe, juice bar, a hair salon and lounge area. The Diversity department will be in all of Eaton's 64 department stores. It will be promoted using TV, outdoor and print ads, as well as in-store materials. The TV campaign will be created by Roche Macaulay & Partners of Toronto, while the outdoor, print and in-store materials will be handled in-house.
