MOLSON TO GIVE HEINEKEN A PUSH IN QUEBEC

Toronto-based Molson Breweries wants to increase the presence of its Heineken brand of beer in Quebec. The brewer has hired Publicis BCP of Montreal to handle advertising for Heineken in that province. The agency already handles advertising for other Molson brands including Molson Dry, Molson Hi Dry, Black Label and O'Keefe ale. Molson distributes Heineken in Canada. The beer is made by the Heineken brewery of Holland. Until now, the brand would be promoted in Quebec using ads created in the U.S. and Holland. Publicis' European operations has been handling Heineken advertising since 1974. Publicis BCP will launch a campaign for the brew in early 1999.
