U.S.-based Xerox, The Document Company has launched a laser-based multifunction fax system to the worldwide market. Called the Xerox Document WorkCentre Pro 545, the machine is for small offices or personal businesses. It handles faxing, PC printing, copying, scanning and also has PC fax capabilities. In addition, the model scans one page in six seconds, offers up to 205 pages of memory, a 25-page document feeder and a 250-page paper capacity. This is Xerox's fifth laser-based multifunction fax system it has introduced over the past year. Last year, the company unveiled the Document WorkCentre Pro 745, followed by the WorkCentre Pro 635, 645 and 657 in April. In Canada, Xerox will incorporate the WorkCentre Pro 545 in a newspaper insert for its other multifunction machines. The insert will be created in-house.
