CAMPAIGN RAISES AWARENESS OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

Toronto-based Doing Business In Canada has launched a national campaign to promote the importance of information technology in Canada. The campaign uses direct mail, Internet and print ads created in-house. There will also be event marketing. The campaign is sponsored by technology vendors including Compuware Corp., Prince Software, Softworks, Databorough International, BindView Development, Viasoft and Deevan Computer Services. The goal of the campaign is to educate IT users in major markets such as Toronto, Ottawa, Vancouver and Montreal, as well as emerging markets such as North Bay, Calgary and Halifax. The long term goals of the campaign is to help business information technology users better understand how technology is changing the way they operate, and to explain how technology can be used to improve corporate competitiveness, reduce operating expenditures and increase sales revenues. Doing Business In Canada was originally launched in 1996. At that time it was known as the Year2000 Information Network.
