U.S.-based Microsoft Corp. will release the next version of its office software at the end of the year in North America. Called Office 2000, the Beta version will be available to 500 customers as part of Microsoft's plan to promote the product. The program will allow customers to use the World Wide Web to collaborate and share information, as well as access and analyze business information to drive decisions. In addition, an organization will be able to roll out and support a consistent version of Office 2000 around the world, while at the same time, allowing their users to work in their native languages. In Canada, advertising for Microsoft is handled by The Communiqué Group of Toronto, while PR is done by Hill & Knowlton of Toronto.
