EPSON OFFERS NEW DOT MATRIX PRINTERS

Epson of America will launch three new dot-matrix printers to the North American market over the summer. The printers are called DFX-8500, the FX-2180 and the FX-1180. The DFX-8500 is a high-end printer. It is a nine-pin, wide-carriage printer that can print up to 1,120 characters per second. The DFX-8500 will hit store shelves in July. The FX-2180 is an industrial strength wide-format printer and will be available in August. The FX-1180 is a nine-pin low-end printer and will be on the market in August. In Canada, Epson will promote the new printers using print ads targeting the vertical and reseller markets. The ads will be created by DDB Needham's Los Angeles' office.
