NINTENDO RAISING MONEY FOR KIDS
By Adnews Staff
Vancouver-based Nintendo of Canada is raising money for children's charities. The video game maker launched a contest last week involving its Game Boy Camera. Under the promotion, consumers can head to retailers and pose for a photo using the Game Boy Camera. The photos will be entered into the contest and participants will have a chance to win a grand prize of $2,000, four second prizes of $500 and one of 10 Game Boy Camera packages. For every entry received, Nintendo will donate 25 cents to Smile Trust, a group of children's industry organizations and corporations that raises money for children's charities. The contest will be promoted by individual retailers. Members of Smile Trust include the Retail Council of Canada, the Canadian Toy Association, YTV Canada, Mattel Canada, Nintendo of Canada, Toys 'R' Us, Sandylion, Today's Parent Group, Grey Canada, Scholastic Canada and Optimedia.
