PIZZA HUT GIVES SUNDAE BAR A POLISH

Toronto-based Pizza Hut Canada has teamed up with Yogen Fruz World-Wide Inc. of Markham, Ont. to relaunch its sundae bar. Under the plan, 230 Pizza Hut locations will feature Yogen Fruz's I Can't Believe It's Yogurt brand by the end of June. Pizza Hut will promote the new partnership and its revamped sundae bar using two TV ads: one targeting children and the other targeting adults. In-restaurant materials will also be used. The campaign will be created by BBDO Canada of Toronto. The restaurant chain decided to partner with Yogen Fruz because the sundae bar needed to be relaunched, but Pizza Hut realized it wasn't an ice cream company so it needed some expertise, Pizza Hut advertising and media manager Bill Lynch told Adnews last week. Yogen Fruz made the deal because it will allow potential new customers to try its product, co-president Michael Serruya says in a release.
