STARBUCKS TO RAISE MONEY FOR CARE PROGRAM

The Starbucks Coffee Company is trying to raise money for Care Canada, an organization that provides relief and long-term development assistance to people in developing countries. The specialty coffee retailer will launch month-long fundraising promotion later this month called Festival Afrika. Under the promotion, consumers will be able to purchase a Festival Afrika Passport at Starbucks, HMV Canada, Roots Canada and Travel Cuts locations. Each passport will feature coupons offering 15% off all regular-priced Roots merchandise, 2-for-1 Frappuccinos and Tiazzi Blended Juiced Tea at Starbucks, a free Frappucino with the purchase of selected Real World CDs from HMV, 5% off any African trip and a ballot to win an trip for two to Africa. Starbucks, and its partners are hoping to raise $60,000 for Care Canada. In addition, Starbucks is donated $1 million to Care Canada. The promotion will be supported using in-store materials created by Echo Advertising of Toronto.
