ACNIELSEN TO CHINA OPERATIONS

ACNielsen plans to expand its people meter operation in China. Currently, the service is just in one city, but ACNielsen plans to have it in 10 cities within two years. The company will expand its service in Guangzhou later this month and Beijing by the end of the year. Other cities will include HangZhou, ShenYang, FuZhou, Tianjin, ChengDu, Nanjing and WuHan. China has more than 300 million Chinese households and over 900 TV stations. ACNielsen entered China in 1996.
