NCR OFFERS PIN-LESS ABM

U.S.-based NCR Corp. has developed an automated bank machine that works in the blink of an eye - literally. The ABM is located in the Nationwide Building Society in Swindon, England. Using the machine, customers insert their cash card and a camera mounted in the machine photographs the colored portion of the eye, which is the iris. If the iris staring back matches the record on the databank, the ABM will allow the transaction. NCR plans to test the ABM for six months. NCR Canada spokesperson Virve Tremblay told Adnews last week that NCR is looking at launching the machine in Canada, but no firm dates have been set yet.
