WAL-MART TO RAISE MONEY FOR KIDS

Toronto-based Wal-Mart Canada is trying to raise $1 million for children's hospitals across Canada over the next eight weeks. The retailer will host events at its 145 outlets until May 31. The events will include a dunk tank, jail and bail, which is a game where customers will donate money to have the store manager thrown in a cell set up in the store. Customers can also donate money to have the manager released. The events will be promoted using in-store signs and print ads created in-house. PR will be done by NATIONAL Public Relations of Toronto. Money raised from the events will be donated to children's hospitals and foundations in Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Saskatoon, Winnipeg, London, Ont., Toronto, Ottawa, Quebec and St. John's.
