Neil Cassie has been appointed worldwide brand planning director at Leo Burnett Co. of Chicago. He will also be a member of the Global Management Group. Most recently Cassie was regional planning director for the agency's Europe/Middle East/Africa region. Alain Gourd has been named president and CEO of Bell Satellite Services, a new division formed by BCE to develop the company's satellite services. Previously Gourd was president and CEO of CANCOM, a national distributor of satellite programming. He has also worked for the Federal Government as Deputy Minister of the Department of Communications and as Secretary to the Cabinet and Deputy Clerk of the Privy Council. Craig Barrett will be promoted to the position of chief executive officer at Intel Corp. of Santa Clara, California, effective May 20. He will replace Andrew Grove, who will continue as chairman of the company. Currently, Barrett is president and chief operating officer of Intel. Rob Stofega has joined Wunderman Cato Johnson of Toronto as a writer, working on the Royal Bank of Canada, Canadian Tire, The Co-operators and DirectProtect accounts. Formerly he was a writer at TBWA Chiat/Day of Toronto. Marion MacKenzie has moved up the ladder at Toronto-based GCI Group from vice-president to senior vice-president. Carmela Galloro is now at GCI as healthcare senior consultant, working with the agency's pharmaceutical, hospital and healthcare clients including Procter & Gamble and the Canadian Dermatology Association. Most recently, Galloro was public affairs manager for The Doctors Hospital of Toronto. Toni Peet has joined GCI as senior consultant, working with such clients as Starbucks Coffee Company, AOL Canada and Julius Schmid of Canada. Previously she was account executive at Cohn & Wolfe of Toronto. Suzanne McMeans and Shari Sirota are now at GCI as account coordinators. Formerly, McMeans was an intern at Fleishman Hillard Inc. of Toronto. Sirota was a publicist at Joanne Smale Productions of Toronto.
