MERCK FROSST EXTENDS COZAAR LINE

Merck Frosst Canada of Kirkland, Que. has beefed up its treatment of high blood pressure. The pharmaceutical giant introduced a 100 mg formulation of its Cozaar prescription medication this week. The drug is for those patients who require additional blood pressure reduction beyond the Cozaar 50 mg and 25 mg tablets, as well as to patients who are unable to take a diuretic medicine. The 100 mg formulation is suitable for patients who have hard-to-control hypertension. Cozaar 100 mg is being promoted using PR done by NATIONAL Pharmacom of Toronto. Cozaar 50 mg and 25 mg were launched in 1995. Merck Frosst markets a line of cardiovascular products for high blood pressure, elevated cholesterol and heart failure, as well as a range of vaccines.
